This article will guide you how to install WordPress for the first time using cPanel. As you know by using cPanel, you able to install WordPress easily as 1 2 3. It is only took less than 1 minute in order to install WordPress in cPanel.
First, you need to login to your cPanel account first. In order to obtain this, you will need to subscript at least shared hosting to provider.
After logged in, you will enter home interface. We called it dashboard panel. Now, on the top search bar you just need to type apps without use enter and the search entry will give the result: Softaculous Apps Installer.
Click the menu Softaculous Apps Installer, and choose WordPress for your platform.
Then you just need to click Install Now and an install interface will appear showing some options we need to fill. Note: you need at least have 50 MB free web space in order to install and get some updates or install some plugins you might need in the near future.
Software setup interface will appear. You just need to fill which options suitable for your own needs.
If you see option like “In Directory” by default it will automatically written as wp. If you have a domain ie. mydomain.com then when someone access my domain mydomain.com it will showing my website immediately, then you need to remove wp text there. Otherwise, the visitor must type mydomain.com/wp/ in order to access your website.
For site settings, I believe you able to fill by yourself.
In admin account section, please becareful. Please choose admin username other than admin. For example you may use somenick81 or cool10 or something else due security reason.
Don’t forget to scroll down and tick Limit Login Attempts (Loginizer) in order to activate it. It will block brute force attempt login for certain times.
Lastly, click Install and wait for few seconds.
After installed successfully, then you may go to your admin panel dashboard of wordpress by accessing wp-admin page. For example mydomain.com/wp-admin.
